Donald Trump made history Saturday as he prepared to take part in Monday's much-anticipated Iowa caucuses.
The final Des Moines Register poll of the Iowa caucuses shows Donald Trump's approval rating at 48%, 28% ahead of his closest challenger.
His lead represents the most lopsided lead in polling before the final caucuses in the history of the Register's iconic predictions.
Polls suggest Trump will make more history on Monday. The current record for most Republican caucus wins is Bob Dole's 12-point victory over Pat Robertson in 1988.
