Colorado Springs firefighters rescued a hiker stranded on a remote ledge in dangerously cold weather over the weekend, fire officials said.
Rescue efforts began just before 7 a.m. Saturday after a hiker reported becoming stuck in rugged terrain in North Cheyenne Canyon, Colorado Springs Fire Department said.
According to KKTV, the temperature at the time was about 2 degrees Celsius.
Crews were able to pinpoint the hiker's location using a drone and sent a high-angle rope rescue team to hike to the hiker's location.

“It's not safe to walk, hike or ride your bike outside,” Lt. Gov. Jamie Gatchik said in a video message. “It's best to stay indoors for the next few days.”
Gutzchik also said individuals who go outside unprepared are not only putting themselves at risk, but also putting the firefighters who must come to the rescue at risk.
