The Dodgers spent more than $1 billion in a historic offseason.
That was highlighted by the signings of Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
In response to a very busy offseason and expectations for this star-studded roster, Dodgers GM Brandon Gomez was a guest on “The Show” podcast this week with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman.

Brandon Gomez interview:
Dodgers GM
- Otani: He is confident that he will be able to pitch someday once he is cleared by the doctor. This deal fulfilled a number of conditions for them. This allowed us to add more talent and flexibility to create the best team possible. Winning was more important to him than anything else.
- Yamamoto: He has multiple weapons to get rid of guys. His possessions and command are special and he cares about his body and routine. This is someone you want to bet on for the long term. He wanted to win like Ohtani.
- Expectations: The goal every year is to win the World Series. I don't know the difference. A great offseason guarantees nothing. We have a talented team, so now we have to perform.
- Remaining offseason: It's opportunistic, but if spring training were to start tomorrow, they would be very happy with their team.
