‘Trying To Rig The Election’: Clay Travis Rips Liberal Networks For Not Airing Trump Victory Speech

Outkick founder Clay Travis criticized CNN and MSNBC for not airing former President Donald Trump's victory speech after the Iowa caucuses during an appearance on Fox News on Tuesday.

MSNBC did not air President Trump's speech, but CNN host Jake Tapper cut out in the middle of a speech. Travis accused the network of trying to “rig” the 2024 election by not broadcasting President Trump's remarks. “Democrats decided that in order to preserve our democracy, we had to keep Donald Trump off the airwaves,” Travis told “The Story” guest host Trace Gallagher. told. “By the way, they do their audience a disservice because the best way for us to decide who to vote for is by listening to what the leading candidates have to say.”

“Also, this is part of a larger complex,” Travis continued. “Understand what's going on here. They're trying to take Donald Trump off the ballot, and so are the Democrats, and CNN can't forgive Jake Tapper for taking him off the air. That's why they put Donald Trump in prison for life, and the same goes for MSNBC and CNN, who spread this anti-immigrant rhetoric to the public by hiding what Trump said from their viewers. They're trying to rig the election.”

In the Iowa caucuses, Trump won with 51.01% of the vote, followed by Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who came in second with 21.23%, and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley with 19.12%. according to On Fox News.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow defended her failure to air President Trump's remarks during Monday night's coverage. The network also did not air Trump's remarks after his arraignment on charges stemming from an investigation into his handling of classified materials.

“There is a cost to us as a news organization for knowingly broadcasting falsehoods,” Maddow said in a clip aired by Fox News from MSNBC's coverage of the Iowa caucuses.

MSNBC hosts and guests routinely touted claims that the 2016 Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to defeat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. MSNBC repeatedly aired Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California, who has often made claims about collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016. The Steele dossier was used to further raise suspicions of collusion, but was later discredited.

“Correct me if I'm wrong. Rachel Maddow went on air on MSNBC and told everyone that if you get vaccinated against COVID-19, you can't get it or spread it.” Have you ever apologized for something?’ That’s 100% inaccurate,” Travis said. “I have never seen her apologize to MSNBC viewers for her mistakes. Therefore, it is up to MSNBC to decide what is acceptable and what is not. That’s interesting.”

“As a cornerstone of democracy, there should be as many speeches from political candidates as possible to give everyone the best possible understanding of their position,” Travis continued. “That's clearly a policy that MSNBC doesn't agree with.”
