Marcus Stroman couldn’t be more excited to join Yankees

Marcus Stroman is ready to help the Yankees.

The right-hander revealed his new team on his Instagram Story on Tuesday after agreeing to a two-year, $37 million contract last Thursday.

Stroman, 32, said he's more motivated to get things going in the Bronx after the 2023 All-Star Game with the Cubs.

“I can't wait to put on the pinstripes and feel the energy of Yankee Stadium,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “It’s an honor to wear the uniform. It’s a very, very honor.

“I will compete at the highest level for you guys. The genuine confidence and swagger that I play with is a direct result of growing up in the New York culture.”

The Long Island native has extensive experience in New York after being traded from the Blue Jays to the Mets in 2019, posting a 3.21 ERA and 218 strikeouts in 238 2/3 innings in Queens.

However, shortly after the deal that sent him to the Mets, there was a conflict between Stroman and the Yankees.

The incident apparently started after general manager Brian Cashman told Yahoo Sports that the Yankees didn't make a move to sign Harler because he wasn't a “difference-maker.”

And in 2020, Stroman wrote on X and later on Twitter that he didn't have much confidence in the Yankees' pitching staff.

“Aside from Cole, there are no current Yankees pitchers who will be in my league for the next 5-7 years. Their pitching always breaks down in the end,” he wrote in a since-deleted post.

“That lineup and payroll should win them World Series left and right…yet they're in a drought. Lol.”

But if there was still some animosity between Stroman and the Yankees, he seemed to have gotten over it by the time he concluded Tuesday's post.

“I really can’t wait to feel the crowd noise and feel the atmosphere on start day,” Stroman added. “It's what we dream about when we're kids. It's thrilling to think these dreams can come true! @Yankees.”

The two-time All-Star finished his two-year stint in Chicago with a 3.73 ERA and 1.202 WHIP in 275 1/3 innings.

He also thanked his former team in another post.

“I loved every moment of being there. Pitching at Wrigley was emotional every time. I'm so grateful to be able to compete for one of the most storied franchises,” he wrote on Instagram .
