On Monday, a concealed carry permit holder was targeted by a robber in Peoria, Illinois, and during a shootout he shot and killed one of the robbery suspects.
WMBD report Permit holders met with groups of people about purchasing vehicles via Facebook Marketplace. The meeting took place in an alley around 5 p.m., and permit holders and their companions met with a number of people about purchasing vehicles. However, upon entering the alley, the sale turned out to be a suspected robbery attempt.
“The investigation revealed that this was a planned robbery and there was no intent to sell the vehicle,” said Semone Ross with the Peoria Police Department.

Police arrived on scene and administered first aid to the injured felon, who died at the scene.
“The Peoria Police Department would like to remind the public to always be vigilant during marketplace-type transactions,” said Semone Ross with the Peoria Police Department. Use wise judgment when choosing a meeting point that is highly visible and preferably under video surveillance. Police station parking lots and lobbies are also available for conducting such transactions. ”
