Bill Belichick to Have Second Interview with Falcons

Bill Belichick's first interview with the Atlanta Falcons went well enough that he will reportedly return to Atlanta for a second interview.

NFL Media reporter Ian Rapoport broke the news Thursday morning that the longtime Patriots coach will be reuniting with Falcons owner Arthur Blank.

But Belichick's second matchup with the Falcons will be different. His first meeting was one-on-one with Blank, but his second meeting will be with the Falcons' executive group.

Belichick is considered Atlanta's first choice, but the team also interviewed University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and others.

After the wild-card weekend and Dallas' disastrous loss to Green Bay, rumors circulated that Belichick would be the logical favorite to replace Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy. However, somewhat shockingly, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones decided to keep McCarthy.

Did Jones decide to keep McCarthy because he felt he wouldn't have any offense because the Falcons would hire Belichick?

That may certainly be the case.

Belichick now has 333 career wins, just 15 wins behind the all-time leader Don Shula.
