Embattled Biden official who encouraged engagement with Hamas slated to teach Israel-Palestine course at Yale

President Biden's beleaguered US special envoy to Iran, Robert Malley, who was suspended last year and is under investigation by the FBI, will teach a course on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at Yale University.

Murray will be teaching a class this semester called “The Israeli-Palestinian Struggle,” which will “take a deep look at important issues surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” according to the report. Yale Daily News.

According to the media, the class has a capacity of 18 students and is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Students were reportedly required to arrange a meeting with Mr Murray and attend an interview before registering for the course. This course consists of 13 weekly discussions and assigned readings.

“Following the October 7 incident, I wondered if it still made sense or if it was best to wait,” Marie said, according to the school's newspaper. “Ultimately, I concluded that it became even more important for me to work with the school to create an environment where students could learn more about this topic and have thoughtful and respectful conversations with other students.”

After working in the Clinton administration and before joining the Biden administration, Murray spoke with Hamas officials and told Time magazine in 2006, “America's Middle East policy is flawed, and here's how to fix it.'' Dan Diker, director of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, criticized Marley, saying he is “a compatriot of the Iranian regime, a supporter of the Iranian regime, and a defender of Hezbollah and Hamas.”

Diker added: “Marie led us into this ISIS-like alleyway that Jews haven't seen since the Holocaust.”
