Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis promised voters in 2020 that she would not date any of her subordinates, according to newly unearthed footage.
The footage, first reported by the Washington Free Beacon, shows Willis saying it would be “inappropriate” for her to have a relationship with one of her staff members. Willis is currently accused of an inappropriate relationship with one of the prosecutors and is also accused of excessive compensation to the prosecutor.
“I would never choose to date people who work for me,” Willis said. “Patricia Clayton Show” In April 2020.
“We're in a place in society where things happen with relationships between people. Husbands and wives, sometimes outside relationships. I don't think the community is concerned about that. There's a moral there. “There may be a breakdown,” she continued.

“I think what the public is really concerned about is that you may have chosen to have inappropriate contact with an employee,” she continued. “I can't say anything about it other than it's distracting. It's definitely inappropriate for the number one law officer in this state and it's really, really sad.”
Willis is currently accused of having an inappropriate romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor he appointed to prosecute former President Donald Trump in the election interference case.

She is accused of overpaying prosecutors and benefiting from the relationship in the form of lavish vacations paid for by Mr. Wade's salary.

Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee scheduled a hearing on the charges for Feb. 15.

Willis has neither confirmed nor denied the allegations, but has suggested that she and Wade may be under scrutiny because they are black.

Willis spoke about the issue for the first time Sunday at Big Bethel AME Church in Atlanta.
“Only one person attacked,” she said. “First they say, 'Oh, she's going to play her race card now.'

“But God is different, aren't they the ones who are cutting the race card with just one question?” Willis asked.
Mr. Wade will continue to serve as the lead prosecutor in Mr. Trump's election interference case in Georgia.
