A male-born transgender golfer is one step closer to becoming a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) after winning a women's tournament in Florida.
Haley Davidson, 30, won The NXXT Women's Classic, held Jan. 17 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club near Orlando, Florida, ended the three-round event with a score of 1-over 73 and a +4. new york post report.

Davidson was a Scottish-born man whose real name is thought to be James Scott Davidson. Began In September 2015, the last year he competed as a man, he underwent hormone treatment and began his transition as a transgender woman. golf week report.

“For the past five years, I've been working on getting every inch of muscle down. I've done everything I can to keep it from sticking out like a sore thumb,” Davidson said.
But considering Davidson sits on the NXXT Tour leaderboard with a total score of 1,320 points, it's hard to make that claim right. This is an incredible 150 points lead over the second place woman on the board.
The controversial golfer also won more than $10,000 in prize money last season. And it seems like a no-brainer that he will be given one of the 10 exemptions to join the Epson Tour.
Davidson also boasts of being the first transgender woman to win a professional golf tournament.
The fact that women's golf brought tears to golfers' eyes is certainly not without controversy.
Tennis legend Martina Navratilova criticized Davidson's campaign to win her PGA membership card.
“This really needs to end as soon as possible. Men's bodies, no matter how they are perceived, do not belong in women's sports,” she wrote to X on January 20.
