Who wants to be a millionaire?
The New Yorker who invented an app at just 14 years old and was thrust into the billionaire's club shares his four secrets to success – perseverance, endless curiosity, innovation and balance.
“Success rarely happens overnight; it is the result of consistent effort over time” Entrepreneur Lukas Roitman told Jam Press:.
While many of his friends were enjoying traditional pastimes in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Roitman was creating and publishing his own viral web video game in his bedroom at the age of 11.
He also developed Airhand, a revolutionary augmented reality software, as a teenager.
This app allows users to control their computers with hand movements. For example, point at an object on the screen or open and close your hand to “pick up” an item.
His pursuit soon paid off, with his innovative creations selling for millions of dollars to multinational companies.
Roitman continues to work in technology, particularly in the AI and robotics industries, and recently sold his drone startup, Adia Robotics, to Apple for $55 million.
He attributes these four habits to his accomplishments.
Perseverance
The Stanford graduate says he learned the true power of perseverance in Palo Alto. There, I had to accept not only academic adjustments but also cultural changes.
“It was critical that we embrace these challenges,” Roitman explained.
“At Stanford, I not only received a world-class education, but also learned the importance of resilience,” he continued. “It’s not just about enduring difficult times, it’s also about finding growth and opportunity in them.”
endless curiosity
A master of technology, he believes that passion, curiosity and the ability to absorb as much information as possible are the trajectory of his career.
“It was my deep-rooted passion and curiosity that led me to take my first steps into the world of technology,” Roitman said. “This constant drive encourages continuous learning and adaptation, which is essential in an ever-evolving technology environment.”
innovation
It's also important to offer something unique. That way, you can establish a clear identity and stand out with something really good, says Roitman.
“Today's teens have unparalleled access to information and tools, and a unique opportunity to experiment, learn, and innovate with these resources, and they should take advantage of it.” He advised.
balance
Although Roitman is very busy with her job, she says she tries to make time for hobbies such as salsa dancing, rock climbing, playing the piano, and enjoying adventure sports.
“I often find myself relaxing by playing the piano. It helps me relax and regain my focus,” he said. “Spending quality time with family and friends keeps me grounded and reminds me of the importance of maintaining a balanced life.”
Roitman advises that it's important to break out of routine.
“The answer is simple: If you love what you do, the scales will find you,” he declared.
