The body of a man missing for weeks has been found stuffed in the chimney of his rented house in Georgia.

Bibb County sheriff's deputies told local news outlets that the body of Anthony Lamprick, 43, who had been missing since late December, was found Friday stuffed in a blanket in the chimney of a home in Macon. He said it was discovered.

Lamprick's roommate said Friday that she noticed a ladder propped up against the house, climbed the ladder and saw a blanket down the chimney.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said the condition of the body suggested Lamprick had been dead for several weeks.

Lamprick's roommate noticed a ladder running toward the house, climbed up and noticed a blanket down the chimney.

Lamprick's family, who live in Ohio, had recently traveled to Macon to search for him. His sister, Marlo Lamprick, said she last heard from Anthony Lamprick on Dec. 28. Lamprick ended up in Macon after his motorcycle broke down in Macon during a trip to Florida last year, she said.

Lamprick's Macon landlord found the door to his rental home open, deemed her suspicious and reported her missing.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will perform an autopsy. Deputies said they are continuing to investigate the incident.

At the time of the raid, Marlo Lamprick described her brother as “just another drug addict” and criticized the sheriff's office for not doing enough to find him.

Marlo Lamprick said her brother had schizophrenia and kidney failure. She said he had been homeless for a time in Macon and had been hospitalized several times.
