Doug Kaid, Patriots beat reporter for the Boston Herald, announced the death of his 2-year-old daughter on Monday, nine months after she was diagnosed with leukemia.
In an Instagram postMr Kiedo said he and his wife Jen were “completely lost and heartbroken” following the tragic death of Harry, who passed away “peacefully in his sleep” with his parents by the hand on Sunday morning. I feel that way,” he said.
“We are completely lost and heartbroken with Harry gone,” Kaid wrote alongside a series of photos of Harry, Jen and their eldest daughter Olivia. “Our lives will never be the same. Harry was a special child who had a positive influence on so many people he met. We were lucky to be her parents and Olivia is the best sister ever. I was lucky to have it.”
Kiedo described her daughter's leukemia as “progressive,” detailing that chemotherapy after a successful transplant was ineffective and that her leukemia had gotten “out of control” before she could begin experimental treatment. Ta.
Harry's disease relapsed last week after a bone marrow transplant.
“Doctors at Boston Children's Hospital did everything in their power to help Harry, and she overcame AML every day for over nine months straight. “After our success, nothing could have prepared us for this moment,” he wrote.
“The world is a worse place without Harry,” Kaid added.
In her own personal post, Jen wrote:: “I don't know how this is going to work. I hope she wakes up in another world, another version of us, and has a beautiful life. Let's meet in my dreams.” I love you forever, lovebug.”
The family plans to host a wake for Harry on Friday, January 26th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Oteri Funeral Home in Franklin, Massachusetts.
Kiedo later said in another Instagram post that the family's funeral will be held privately and privately.
“Wear what you like. Harry loved pink and sparkle and had no interest in black,” he wrote.
