Ravens Coach Gives Glory to God after Playoff Win

The head coach of the Baltimore Ravens quoted a Bible verse in Saturday's postgame press conference, saying he wanted “glory and honor” after his team advanced to the AFC Championship Game at the home of the Baltimore Ravens for the first time in over 50 years. I want to give glory and honor where it is due.”

John Harbaugh's comments came after the top-seeded Ravens defeated the Houston Texans at halftime to win 34-10 in the NFL Divisional Round. Baltimore will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game on Sunday, marking the first time since 1971 that Baltimore has hosted the game.

Mr. Harbaugh began his press conference with these words: 1 Chronicles 29:11.

“This was sent to me before the game. It just means something to me. I'm going to share it with you guys because I think it's the right thing to do,” Harbaugh said at a press conference. Ta. “And it is a poem: 'Greatness, and power, and glory, and victory, and honor, are thine, for thine is all heaven and earth. The kingdom is thine, O Lord. Thou art at the head. He is the ruler of all.”

“There's a great spirit on this team,” Harbaugh said. “And I just want to give honor and glory where it's due.”

The Ravens finished the regular season with the best record in the NFL (13-4) and are the favorites to advance to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2012 season. Their quarterback, Lamar Jackson, is the frontrunner for the league's MVP award.

“Lamar just made a wild play with our defense,” Harbaugh said. “Everyone did it. I'm proud of our guys. It's the first step.”

Harbaugh is in his 16th season as the Ravens coach. record It was 160-99 during that stretch. Baltimore reached the playoffs 11 times during his tenure.

He spoke about his faith in a TV interview last year. Sports Spectrum Podcast.

“To me, success is being aligned with God,” he said. “Perfect success is complete union with God and His will. To seek to find that purpose through connection, to connect and be filled with the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, is success.”

Furthermore, he added: “Really, I believe (walking with Christ) comes down to trusting. I believe in providence. I trust in God's will, God's plan. Most of all, I believe that Leave yourself in the hands of the Lord, because when you look back you will see where He has led you.
