Former Jan. 6 committee chair applauds Navarro’s prison sentence

The former chairman of the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol praised the prison sentence for former President Trump's former adviser.

Navarro was sentenced Thursday to four months in prison for failing to respond to an investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. He was found guilty in September of two counts of contempt of Congress: failing to produce documents related to the investigation and failing to take a deposition.

Prosecutors asked the judge to sentence Navarro to six months in prison, saying he had shown “total disregard” for the commission's investigation and “utter contempt for the rule of law.” Ta.
