Deborah-Lee Furness is embarking on a new journey after 30 years as Hugh Jackman's wife.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph published on Wednesday, Furness said: “Change, transition, evolution is a little scary and we all fear it a little bit. But it's probably our biggest challenge. I think it's a gift.”
Furness will play his first acting role in eight years in the Australian film Forces of Nature: The Dry 2, starring Eric Bana.
“It's kind of exciting,” Furness told the magazine after attending the film's premiere in Sydney. “For me, it was a strong female ensemble cast and a great director. I love Eric[Bana]. We ended up going back to Australia to shoot in the wilderness.

The former couple announced their separation in September after 27 years of marriage.

In a statement published in People magazine at the time, the couple said: “We have been blessed as husband and wife for almost 30 years in a wonderful and loving marriage.” “Our journey is currently changing and we have decided to separate to pursue personal growth.

Furness and Jackman met on the set of an Australian television series and married less than a year later, in April 1996.
They also have two adult children, son Oscar (23) and daughter Eva (18).

Their breakup appears to have been amicable. The pair celebrated Jackman's 55th birthday with friends in October.
