Everyone “has some kind of racist inside of them,” the Alabama lawmaker said in a debate with his Republican opponent Wednesday night.

Congressman Jerry Carl made this comment during the Republican primary debate against fellow Congressman Barry Moore. Both senators are vying to become the Republican nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in the state's March 5 primary after Alabama's congressional maps were redrawn.
