Pastor Greg Laurie to Release First Episode of ‘Entertaining and Evangelistic’ Cartoon Series

Greg Laurie, a California pastor and founder of Harvest Crusades, plans to release a new comic book series that he describes as “funny and evangelistic.”

Laurie wrote on social media: The Adventures of Ben Born Again and Yellow Dog immediately video post.

“I'm excited to announce that my comic book characters Ben Born Again and his sidekick Yellow Dog have been adapted into an animated series and our first comic book is coming soon!” Laurie said Tuesday. wrote to X. “The title of the first one is 'The Bridge Is Out.' These comics are both funny and evangelistic. We think you'll love them.”

Church leaders said the post included a trailer for the series, which showed the main character, Ben Born Again, talking with his friend Yellow Dog near the shore. Ben Born Again, holding a skateboard, announces that he has been reborn as Yellow Dog. john 3But Yellow Dog doesn't know what that means. In response, Ben Born Again concluded the video by telling viewers that “you'll have to wait for Yellow Dog's next adventure” to find out.

Laurie, who heads Harvest Fellowship Church in Riverside, first announced the series on Harvest's website last July.

“I don't know if you know my story, but my mother was married and divorced seven times. She was a severe alcoholic, so I was really lonely as a child. “Art played a huge role in my development. It was an escape for me!” he said at the time. “It helped me step away from the crazy life going on around me and connect with something bigger than myself and my situation. That's why I'm excited to announce a new project that's so close to my heart. It's an anime program called The Adventures of Ben Born Again and Yellow Dog

He explained that Ben Born Again was originally created from a faith comic he created called “The Living Water,” and that the character was “probably a caricature of me,” and that “through him, my “I want to tell the story,” he added.

The pastor hopes his comic book series will appeal to people of “all ages,” not just children.

“I want to tell these little stories, and they have heavenly meaning. I want to reach people with humor, but I want to say something bigger.

“through The Adventures of Ben Born Again and Yellow Dog“We felt like we could take animation and flip it on its head with something we've never seen before, an animated cartoon that has a wholesome, good, family-friendly message, and more than that, a gospel message.” ”Lori concluded.
