Shocking video of trooper sent flying in traffic stop crash

Miserable Drive recorder footage This photo captures the moment an Oklahoma police officer was thrown into the air after crashing into a parked SUV, and amazingly got back up almost unscathed.

Video released this week shows Officer Jesse Gregory standing on the passenger side of a vehicle near the end of a 20-minute traffic stop on Interstate 40 last week.

Suddenly, a black SUV rams into the stationary car he's standing next to, violently throwing him to the ground, seemingly head first.

The SUV that crashed also rolled over multiple times, and the vehicle was thrown several feet along the edge of the highway.

Amazingly, Gregory rolled and almost immediately stood up and jumped out of the frame, feeling every danger.

“When I watch the video, I don't even remember rolling the barrel and standing up,” Gregory said. told KWTVshowing that his only injury appeared to be a scrape on his left arm.

“I hope this is a scare for my career,” the service member said, even though he had previously witnessed another member suffer more serious injuries in a similar incident.

Gregory said he was “ready to get back” to work, but acknowledged that “it's going to take a little bit of time mentally to get back to work.”

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said it shared the video “as a vivid reminder of the consequences of distracted and obstructive driving and the importance of slowing and moving without regard to the law.”

“We are currently in the midst of highlighting distracted driving in memory of Officer Nicholas Dees, who was killed in the line of duty when he was struck by a distracted driver.”

“Fortunately, Officer Gregory appears to be OK. In fact, all three individuals involved in this incident were treated and released,” OHP said, adding that this horrific incident is still under investigation. added.

Gregory was at the scene of a similar incident on Jan. 5, when Deputy Jose Tayawa Mendoza was hit by a car during a traffic stop. Fox News reported.

“Hey, brother, are you okay?” he asked his fellow officer.

Gregory told KWTV that Tayawa Mendoza is his neighbor.

“He was shocked by the exact same situation. I was less than a mile away from him and I was actually the first one to go to the scene and call for help,” he said.

Tayawa Mendoza survived the accident but is reportedly in a long-term rehabilitation facility.
