The Pentagon on Monday identified the names of three U.S. soldiers killed in an Iranian-backed militia attack in Jordan over the weekend.
The person killed was Sgt. William Jerome Rivers, 46, of Carrollton, Georgia. Special Kennedy Landon Sanders, 24, of Waycross, Georgia. and Spc. Breonna Alexandria Moffett, 23, of Savannah, Georgia.

The soldiers were assigned to the 926th Engineer Battalion, 718th Engineer Company, 926th Engineer Brigade, Fort Moore, Georgia.
Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh said the “fallen” heroes were deployed to Jordan in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and the international coalition working to ensure the lasting defeat of ISIS. .

“These brave Americans and their families are in our prayers, and the entire Department of Defense mourns their loss,” Singh said.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of three Army soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country in Jordan. Our prayers go out to the families, friends and family of these loyal and brave soldiers. Our thoughts are with the entire 718th Engineer Company. We salute these men for their selfless ‘service and dedication to duty,'” USCENTCOM Commander Michael Eric Kurilla said in a statement.

The Pentagon said more than 40 people were injured in a weekend attack on a small desert facility known as Tower 22 in Jordan. At least eight people were medically evacuated, with the most seriously injured member in serious but stable condition.
