A New Jersey homeowner says he has identified several salami-throwing “thieves,” but police are still investigating why they threw pepperoni slices outside his home in a vandalism incident.
“What is this?” Heather Dougherty told PIX 11 that’s what she thought when she made the discovery last Wednesday morning. “I can’t say exactly what words I used because I was on camera, but I was like, ‘What is this?’ From the door to the end of the porch and down the stairs to the driveway, he had four on the hood. Three slices, strategically placed his four slices in the trunk.”
The Manville native told a local news station she has lived in her home on South Street for 16 years and that it has never been vandalized.
“We’re trying to figure out who was carrying around two loaves of pepperoni in the middle of the night, slicing them up and throwing them on people’s property,” Dougherty said. “Don’t you have anything better to do with your time?”

She was worried about the paint job because the meat was scattered all over her home as well as her car, and it was unclear how long the greasy product, commonly used in pizza, had been left out.
Doherty posted a photo of the scene on Facebook, saying: “The group of thieves I am calling have been identified by me. Police are still investigating and charges are pending the outcome of the police investigation.” Ta.

Local pizza shop owner Anthony Daniello told PIX 11 the meat appeared to be larger than the type typically used in pies.
“It’s definitely a pepperoni, a salami relative. I’m not sure what exactly it is,” Danielo said. “As an Italian, it breaks my heart.”

The Manville Police Department did not immediately respond to a Fox News investigation into the alleged crime.
“It’s funny, but it’s wrong,” she said. “You must not trespass or destroy anyone’s property.”
