At least three people were taken to the hospital after an Amtrak passenger train collided with a truck transporting a milk tanker and derailed in Colorado Monday night, authorities said.
The California Zephyr train was heading to Chicago from the San Francisco Bay Area when the accident occurred near Keansburg around 10 p.m. Monday. FOX31 Denver report.
The tractor-trailer was crossing the railroad tracks when the train struck the rear end of the trailer, which was carrying a tanker full of milk, the Colorado State Patrol told troopers.
At least three people suffered minor injuries and were being treated at a hospital, the agency said. According to police, one train employee suffered minor injuries. Their current status was not immediately known.
