Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham accused President Biden’s administration of retaliating over Texas’ refusal to rescind protections on its southern border, primarily razor wire. Buckingham pointed to the administration’s decision to suspend approvals for natural gas exports.
The Secretary of Lands recently commented on the Supreme Court’s decision allowing the federal government to resume cutting and removing razor wire installed by Texas on its southern border.
“My reaction was complete surprise. I really don’t understand their reasoning behind it,” Buckingham told the host. Briana Morello.
“Barriers such as power lines and walls direct people attempting to cross to legal crossings where Border Patrol has more legal access,” she added.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott also issued a statement related to the border crisis, declaring his state being invaded and invoking Texas’ right to keep the state safe.
“In exercise of Texas’ constitutional right of self-defense, we have already declared an invasion under Article I, Section 10, Section 3,” Abbott said. SCNR. “That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal law to the contrary,” the governor added.
