Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson announced the death of his wife, Melinda, on Tuesday.
“My heart is broken. Melinda, my beloved wife of 28 years, passed away this morning,” he said in a statement on social media. The legendary star went on to talk about the impact of this tragic loss. “My five children and I are just in tears,” he wrote. “I’m lost.”

Wilson tweeted several short messages in quick succession while breaking the news of the tragedy to his adoring fans.
“Melinda was more than my wife. She was my savior,” he said.
“She gave me the emotional security I needed to build a career. She encouraged me to make music that was closest to my heart. She was an anchor. She meant everything to us. Please pray for her,” Wilson asked fans.
The famous singer went on to say that Melinda “passed away peacefully at home this morning.”
“She was a force of nature and one of the strongest women in this world,” he said.

Wilson paid tribute to her lost love by sharing sweet memories of her kind spirit.
“She was not only a model, a father’s savior, and a mother, but a woman empowered by spirit with a mission to better the lives of everyone she touched. We will miss her. But we will cherish everything she taught us.”
He summarized some of her most attractive qualities before closing the deal.

According to Hollywood Life, Wilson and Melinda married in 1995 and expanded their family by adopting five beloved children.
