Lionel Richie feels (endless) love.
The ‘All Night Long’ hitmaker, 74, revealed he is “thrilled” for Sophia, 25, and her husband Elliot Grainge, 30, after they announced they were expecting their first child.
“My Baby Is Having a Baby” “Hello” Singer Speaking on “Entertainment Tonight” Monday. “And we’re so excited for Elliott and Sophia. They’re just over the moon.”
Lionel said he was surprised by the news after being told the lovers had shared a video of their intimate gender reveal at home this week.
“You know, they don’t have any secrets,” he joked about the news that they were having a baby girl. “I always say, ‘Keep it a secret, okay?’ But yes, that’s what’s happening. I’m very happy.”
The four-time Grammy Award winner is already a grandfather of two, including daughter Nicole Richie.
The former reality TV star shares daughter Harlow, 16, and son Sparrow, 14, with rocker husband Joel Madden.
However, Lionel is not interested in being called “Grandpa”, although he is already a great grandpa at home.
“I’m Pop Pop,” he explained. “We don’t understand the word ‘grandpa’. Yeah, that’s a little deep. Pop Pop is where we’re going.”
Elsewhere, the ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ hitmaker revealed the strictly forbidden name for Sophia and Elliott’s baby girl.
