The decision announced by Formula One Management (FOM) on Wednesday will keep the Andretti Cadillac F1 Team candidate off the grid for the time being, but the candidate team has released an official response.
And as you can imagine, they didn’t agree with that decision.
“Andretti Cadillac has reviewed the information shared by Formula One Management Limited and strongly disagrees with its contents. is a successful global motorsport organization committed to competing with teams from all over the world.” The statement said in part.
However, the statement indicates that future teams will continue to work towards joining future grids. In a decision announced early Wednesday morning, F1 noted that the door could be open to a bid for Andretti and Cadillac in 2028, when future teams believe the power unit program will be fully operational. .
That would allow Andretti Cadillac to join the grid as a full works team, rather than as a customer team.
“We are proud that, with the help of our experienced team, we have already made significant progress in developing a highly competitive car and power unit. Our work continues to progress smoothly,” said Andretti. Cadillac continued with its statement.
The statement concluded with words of gratitude to supporters.
“Andretti Cadillac would also like to thank our fans for their support.”
