One of the most popular Bible-based entertainment projects of all time, Chosen personits success can be attributed to what Hollywood studios call good luck.
But fans of the series would call it providential.
While the first season of the series had a certain following in 2019, it never achieved the viral status it has now, much less the funding it has now. Then the 2020 pandemic happened. In March of that year, the company behind the Chosen person Season 1 is now available online for free. Viewer ratings soared. That led to even more donations. It also led to more seasons.
President Brad Pero Chosen personbelieves the pandemic was critical to its current success.
“It was helpful because we were all at home and looking for something to do,” Pero told Crosswalk. “But I think it also helped that we were faced with a dilemma as a society: We’re thinking: Is this going to kill us all? Life gets back to normal. We were asking an existential question for humanity.”
today, Chosen person is available on its own platform as well as major streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Peacock. In my opinion, this is the best faith-based project in modern history. Season 4 will be released in theaters in February.

1. This is a groundbreaking theatrical event
Slide 1/7
It is rare for episodes of a television series to be released in theaters. Chosen person Season 3 did this for a small number of episodes in about 2,000 theaters, but for example, ABC’s inhumans 2017 and HBO game of thrones We did something similar in 2015.
However, an entire season of a television series has never been released in theaters on a large scale. All eight of his episodes in season 4 were released on traditional platforms (e.g. Chosen person app). Episodes 1-3 will be released in theaters on February 1st, followed by episodes 4-6 on February 15th, and episodes 7-8 on February 29th.
The fact that the entire TV series was successfully released in theaters is a testament to the popularity of the series. Last year alone, Chosen person It was on the cover of TV Guide and had solid numbers on The CW. It also reached the top 10 on Amazon Prime Video. It was also mentioned in The Joe Rogan Experience.

2. The resurrection of Lazarus and…
Slide 2/7
Due to the embargo, we cannot reveal too many details. However, we can discuss what is in the trailer and what is already publicly known.
Season 4 includes a scene in which Lazarus rises from the dead, and another scene in which Jesus tells his disciples, “On this rock I will build my church.” (Both scenes are cleverly set.) They include Judas stealing from the treasury and John the Baptist being led to death.
We see political and religious leaders conspiring against Jesus. We too see Jesus crying. The movie poster depicts Jesus weeping.
“There’s a lot of pain and a lot of sadness this season,” Elizabeth Tabish, who plays Mary Magdalene, told Crosswalk. “But there is also hope and light. It contains some of my favorite stories in the Gospels.”
This series is scheduled for seven seasons.

3. It was the first season to be filmed on a completed set.
Slide 3/7
Season 4 was first filmed on the completed set of Camp Hoblitzel, a Salvation Army property southwest of Dallas, Texas. (Parts of Season 3 were filmed there during construction.)
The multi-million dollar set includes a replica of a 1st century Jewish city with date palm trees, Jewish quarter, Roman quarter, stables, food market, city gates, synagogue and more. element. It also contains some of the oddities, or secrets, that are common in major sets. The interior of Peter and Eden’s house is placed in one part of the set, and the outside in another. The largest synagogue structure actually represents his two synagogues in ‘The Chosen’ (one of his synagogues on the outside and the other on the inside).
The set also includes a massive 30,000 square foot sound stage for filming scenes in an indoor, controlled environment.
“This is the only one of its kind in America,” said creator Dallas Jenkins. Lara Silva, who plays Eden, told Crosswalk that the lifelike set made her job easier. “You don’t really have to imagine” what the first century was like, she says, contrasting the village with a green screen. She said, “When you walk in, it’s like you’re there.”

4. Survived the Hollywood Strike
Slide 4/7
Remember the 2023 Hollywood strike? First, the writers hit the picket line. This was followed by actors and actresses. They signed a new deal with a major studio, but it wasn’t done before, which had a major impact on the 2024 film schedule. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the global box office in 2024 could lose $2 billion to major films scheduled for 2025.
Chosen person It survived the strike because it is an independent production and is not tied to the major studios at the center of the conflict. He only missed one day of filming after receiving an exemption from SAG (Actors Guild). It was the first TV series to be approved for continuation. (The Chosen was not affected by the writers’ strike because it was not his WGA project.)
People in the mainstream media joked, “‘Wait a minute, how did the Yes show get a tentative deal?'” Co-executive producer Chad Gundersen said:
“The actors ( Chosen person They were very worried because to be honest no one wanted to go on strike. But at the same time, we want to respect (the strike),” Gundersen told Crosswalk.
If the exemption had not been granted, production would have been delayed by 118 days (4 months). That was the length of the SAG strike.

5. The actors were surrounded by “hidden” Bible verses.
Slide 5/7
Although you can’t see it on the big screen, this set includes Bible verses “hidden” in plain sight. In a sense. BJ Forman, Arts Department Coordinator Chosen persontold Crosswalk that the construction workers who built the set were given magic markers and allowed to write their favorite Bible verses on the unfinished walls and rooms before painting.
“They took that idea and brought it to every unfinished room in the city,” Forman said.
God’s word has power.upon Chosen personit is not only the basis of the script, but also a concrete part of the set.

Chosen person ” has become a worldwide sensation, proving its translational goals. The nonprofit organization Come and See Foundation is working to translate Season 4 and each season into 600 languages, representing 95 percent of the world’s population. (Season 1 is already available in 53 languages, if you’re interested.)

7. Could it be part of the “chosen” universe?
Slide 7/7
Chosen person ” is scheduled for seven seasons, but creator and director Dallas Jenkins plans to launch another Biblical series/project after the final season is released, which will expand upon select “worlds” of Biblical-based stories. He hinted that he wanted to create one. That’s no surprise considering the millions of dollars spent building the set and sound studio in Texas.
“We have other Bible stories to tell,” he said at last year’s K-Love Fan Awards. He told Crosswalk, “I’m just trying to follow what God wants me to do.”
Jenkins is a popular director among movie buffs. Chosen person –And among the cast members as well.Kirk BR Waller as Gaius Chosen person, Jenkins said, “embodies Jesus’ message of kindness and generosity.” He has worked with Jenkins for many years.
“There’s no pretense, there’s no ego,” Waller told Crosswalk. “There’s just love, and it starts with him and trickles down.”
