Chicago 9th Ward Alderman Anthony Beal is tired of city hall handing out freebies to illegal aliens, and says the large number of welfare border crossers being assigned to them means more people are being given freebies. He says he is promoting people to come here.
In a recent speech on the floor of the Chicago City Council, Mr. Beal said undocumented immigrants receive more than $9,000 a month in free child care, housing stamps, food, clothing, education, legal aid and other services. He said he was paid.
“Now, I told you before. If you give me three meals a day, housing, child care, and education, I’ll give you $9,000 in vouchers. You know? I’m coming to Chicago, too,” he said during floor discussion. .

“And that’s what they’re doing. They’re sending people money to Chicago, to Venezuela, to come to Chicago because good times are coming. They’re taking care of everyone. “They are watching,” he continued.
“Now, when you have Venezuelans driving cars, where did they get their driver’s license? Where did they get their insurance from? And when you have Venezuelans getting caught with drugs and guns, , where do you get it from?” he asked.
Beal is a major opponent of “progressive” Mayor Brandon Johnson over the mayor’s undocumented-friendly policies toward illegal aliens, even as they take resources away from black communities. However, he was one of the members of the city council who was working to have the city of Chicago decide on the pros and cons of the policy to the voters. He aims to keep the city a so-called “sanctuary city” by putting the question on the 2024 ballot.
“Right now, we’re dealing with a massive disaster here in the city of Chicago, and we need to address it. I want to thank the voters, the people who actually vote and pay taxes here in the city of Chicago, to continue to be a sanctuary city. No one asked me if I wanted to,” Beal said. Said In September, debate over voting measures intensified in the city council.
In the end, Mr. Beale and his supporters orchestrated a bait-and-switch by left-wing Mayor Johnson, putting a straight question on the ballot to give voters the chance to say “yes” or “no” on remaining a “sanctuary city.” I lost the battle. They reframed this straightforward question into one that didn’t actually give voters any chance to end the city’s sanctuary status.
Instead of giving voters a choice, Mr. Johnson and his allies who support illegal aliens replaced the question with the following sentence: “The City of Chicago should impose reasonable limits on the resources of city-provided immigrant shelters, including funding caps and shelter occupancy time limits, to prevent significant negative impacts on Chicago’s current residents. What if you need it?”
Note that this question does not give voters a choice about ending the giveaway, only about placing a “cap” on the giveaway.
