Columbus Blue Jackets center Cole Schillinger has denied having an affair with singer Tate McRae after the former couple reportedly broke up last year.
Schillinger, 20, took to her Instagram account to respond to a post by blind_ref_logic, a meme account with 142,000 followers, that accused her of cheating on McRae, also 20.
“It’s all a lie, my man.” Schillinger wrote In the comments.
The post featured a collage of four photos, including a snapshot of McRae and Schillinger and a photo of the Canadian singer at last weekend’s NHL All-Stars.
The post read: “Step 1: Become Cole Schillinger. Step 2: Date out of your league (literally). Step 3: Start your career by cheating on your girlfriend. [and] Step 4: She will be invited to the NHL All-Star Game before you. ”
The post’s caption criticized Schillinger, calling her “probably the biggest female failure in human history.”
McRae made headlines as the entertainment headliner at Saturday’s NHL All-Star Game. during the festival At Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
