Leftists are praising Dead Country music star Toby Keith for reviving his years-old feud with the Dixie Chicks, and believe that Keith’s death from cancer at age 62 will somehow lead to a victory for the girl band. Some people claim that it represents
Those on the left celebrated Toby Keith’s death by rehashing his political feud with fellow singer Kris Kristofferson.
Toby Keith passed away on Monday at the age of 62 after a battle with stomach cancer. “Toby Keith passed away peacefully last night, February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought with grace and courage. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time.” the family said in a statement.
The country music star is unabashedly patriotic and masculine, with hit singles like “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” “I Love This Bar” and “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.” I sent it out into the world.
His unapologetic public persona made him an enemy on the left who sought to discredit his music.
In 2003, Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks spoke out against “red-white-and-blue etiquette” and described their hit single as “ignorant”.
“Don’t even get me started. I hate that. It’s ignorant and makes it sound like country music is ignorant,” Maines said.
Keith responded by displaying an image of Maines befriending Iraq’s Saddam Hussein at a concert.
Mayne later attended the ACM Awards wearing a shirt that read “FUTK,” or “Fuck You Toby Keith.”
This week, Keith-hating leftists celebrated his passing, taking to social media to portray his death as a belated victory for the Dixie Chicks.
One commenter pointed out, “The Dixie Chicks validated this morning.”
