Tiger Woods announced Wednesday that he will serve as the playing host at the Genesis Invitational. With his 82 wins on the PGA Tour, Rivera will be looking for his first win in his country and at his club, having previously failed to conquer this course.
Woods has a busy week planned, posting a cryptic message on social media regarding the launch of his Sunday Red clothing line, scheduled for Monday night.
Fans were understandably excited when Woods announced the news that he would not only be hosting but actually playing this week. The tournament would easily be even better if Big Cat was on the field.
These reactions show that Woods remains flexible when it comes to professional golf despite his limited playing ability.
Let’s beat Tiger…

The “Big Dog” moment at the PNC Championship became a meme. Multiple people took advantage of that and reacted to his debut in 2024.
Detox all the bad toxins of professional golf and it will take over.

The PGA Tour needs a competitive Tiger Woods. When Tiger appears in a tournament, he immediately starts watching a lot of TV. Good luck hosting and playing nice at Genesis!

There aren’t many tournaments that Woods hasn’t won, but Genesis is one of them. This year will be his 15th start at Riviera. His best finish was second place in 1999, when the tournament was known as the Nissan Los Angeles Open.
Last year, he finished T45 in this event, the only tournament he finished before undergoing ankle surgery.
How well do you think Woods will do this weekend? Will he finally be able to conquer the elusive Riviera Country Club?
