“If You Had A Husband Like Mine, You May Not Have Two DUIs”

Mo’Nique recently visited the former soccer player’s podcast and gave a candid response to Tiffany Haddish, who spoke out during Mo’Nique’s tense negotiations with Netflix in 2018.

Haddish defended Netflix in an interview after Mo’Nique called for a boycott of the streaming platform. GQ“My business is different than hers. I’m not living her life. I don’t have her husband…just because someone offered me an amount of money that wasn’t what I wanted. , I’m not going to protest.”

However, the remark was still fresh in Monique’s mind, as she told Sharpe: GQ Magazine – I think the journalist was white, and the conversation moved to Monique and she said, “I think the journalist was white. Her husband. ”

Monique didn’t stop there.

“If I had a husband like me, I might have been busy raising children,” she says. “And I say all this without judgment, but when you talk about having a husband like me, you open the door. If you’re like that, you might not sit in a position that you can’t explain the next day. Otherwise, it’s a difficult road.”

Sharp, who was laughing and listening to Monique criticize the actress, commented, “Well, she doesn’t even have a husband — much less one like you.”

“Well, damn, you said that,” she replied.

Monique’s husband, Sidney Hicks, is also her manager. The two have known each other since they met in high school in Baltimore, but Monique claims their relationship began years after they formed a partnership. They currently co-own a production company called Hicks Media Inc.
