Virginia teacher pleads guilty to sexual assault of 14-year-old

A former middle school teacher in Virginia has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old and faces up to 50 years in prison.

On Tuesday, Megan Pauline Jordan pleaded guilty to four felony counts of sexual knowledge of a minor and one felony count of lewd conduct with a minor, according to the Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. The 25-year-old woman could face up to 50 years in prison if convicted of all five felonies.

Henrico County Sheriff’s Office announced that Jordan was arrested in June 2023 on suspicion of committing “multiple crimes involving minors.” press release. She has been held in Henrico County Jail without bail since her arrest in June, according to her inmate record.

At the time of her arrest, the Henrico County Police Department Said “We became aware of potentially inappropriate conduct involving an adult acting in a custodial manner towards Henrico County students.”

“Sufficient information was gathered from this incident for Henrico County Police to pursue charges related to potential sexual activity between an adult and a teenage minor,” the department said.

At the time, Jordan was a teacher at Hungarian Creek Middle School.

Prosecutors allege she intended to sneak into the boy’s home and sexually abuse the 14-year-old student.

The Henrico County Public School District called the alleged teacher sex scandal an “extremely serious and upsetting situation.”

“We are in contact with our school families and will continue to support our school community in any way necessary,” the district said.

Investigators said they recovered Jordan’s DNA from the student’s bed sheets.

Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor Said“During the 2022-23 school year, Ms. Jordan had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student. On several occasions, Ms. Jordan went to the victim’s home and had sexual relations with the student. Her DNA was recovered from the bed linen.”

“I have to recognize the courageous actions of those who reported this matter to the Henrico Police Department,” Taylor added. “We are always asking people to say something if they see something unusual or not quite right. Thanks to their efforts, we are keeping this predator off our streets and schools. She is apart and will be held accountable for her actions.”

Under Virginia law, minors under the age of 17 cannot legally consent to sexual activity.

Jordan was married in 2021, according to public records.

Her sentencing is scheduled for May 20th.
