Even if Tommy Cattletz’s NFL career doesn’t go as planned, he could always pursue acting.
Tommy DeVito became one of the NFL’s best feel-good stories during the 2023 season.
The Cedar Grove, New Jersey, native signed with his hometown New York Giants after college and became the starter after injuries to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor.

The Giants’ season was nearly over when DeVito came in, but he lit a fire under Big Blue, leading the Giants to three straight wins and restoring their playoff hopes.
Although the G-Men ultimately underperformed and missed the playoffs, DeVito earned the respect of many in his own locker room and among soccer fans across the country.
The sudden celebrity was one of the many VIPs in attendance at Thursday night’s NFL Honors, and of course, he’s tapping into his Italian roots.
NFL Honors host Keegan Michael-Key sat next to DeVito during the scripted portion of the show and said he found the way he told the story “interesting.”

“Funny? How can I be funny? Do I look like a clown? Do I entertain you?”
“No, your story is unexpected and interesting,” the actor replied.
“No, I don’t know. You said it. How am I funny? Tell me. Am I entertaining you?”
The nod to the 1990 hit drew laughs from the crowd, and DeVito also received an award that night. DeVito’s Italian hand gesture won “Best Celebration”.

DeVito went 3-3 (playing in nine games) as a starter, completing 64.0% of his passes for 1,101 yards and eight touchdowns.
