It seems like Jalen Brunson can do anything.
Appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Friday night, the Knicks guard and first NBA All-Star performed a spoken word rendition of Smash Mouth’s hit “All-Star” I poked my nose a little.
Appearing in an all-black outfit with a beanie hat on, the Knicks’ superstar point guard took to the microphone as the studio went dark and the drums blared like a poetry reading at a jazz club. I walked.
Now, you too are an All-Star. Let’s start the game and go play,” he said in a slow tone. “Come on, you’re a rock star. Get on the show and get paid. And all that glitters is gold. Only shooting stars break the mold.”
When he finished speaking, he bowed slightly and a rose was thrown at his feet.
“Oh my god, Jalen Brunson, everyone,” Fallon concluded the segment.
Brunson then sat down for a one-on-one interview with the comedian, but suffered an ankle strain that forced him to miss Thursday night’s loss to the Mavericks.
“Everything is going well,” Brunson said, adding that “we’ll see” whether he’ll return to action soon.
The Knicks officially listed Brunson as questionable for Saturday’s game.
He shared some lighthearted tidbits during the interview, saying he has been listening to Justin Bieber’s music before every game since his college days at Villanova.
Fallon also asked the point guard if it was fun for him and the Knicks to prove the predictions wrong this season as they sit fourth in the Eastern Conference.

“For me, I just want to say I proved to myself that I belong,” Brunson said. “I belong here, I worked hard to get here. …I worked hard to get here, so I kept that mindset, kept that confidence, and it never wavered. We have to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
Brunson also said that if the Knicks win this year, he will actually bring the Larry O’Brien Trophy to the show’s studio.
