A Virginia tech executive has died nearly a week after getting into an altercation on a Washington, D.C., street. The suspect remains at large.
Dr. Vivek “Vic” Taneja, 41, passed away on Wednesday. WUSA9 reported.
Taneja was found on the sidewalk outside Shoto Restaurant around 2 a.m. on February 2 by authorities who responded to a report of an assault, the newspaper said.
He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Taneja got into an argument with the man before the altercation turned physical, causing him to be thrown to the ground and bang his head on the pavement, WUSA9 reported, citing a preliminary investigation.
Police are currently investigating this incident as a homicide.
According to WUSA9, the person of interest was captured on surveillance camera footage.

The Metropolitan Police Department did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
Taneja, who lives in Alexandria, was co-founder and president of Dynamo Technologies, an IT company that works with the federal government, according to LinkedIn.
He led the company’s federal contracts, according to the company’s website.
