The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently launched raids on Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip, killing 120 terrorists and saying they had discovered a “substantial amount” of property and weapons, including inside a United Nations building.

The Israeli military said in a joint statement with the Israeli Security Agency (ISA) on Saturday that attacks had been carried out in northern Gaza over the past two weeks.

“The troops operated in the Shati and Tel al-Hawa areas of northern Gaza,” the joint statement said. “As part of the operation, approximately 120 Hamas terrorists were killed and 20 terrorist infrastructure facilities were destroyed.”

IDF said ISA first led them to a tunnel shaft near a school run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

“The shaft led to an underground terror tunnel that serves as a key asset for Hamas’s military intelligence and passed under a building that serves as UNRWA’s headquarters in the Gaza Strip,” the IDF explained.

The Israeli military said it raided the 700-metre-long tunnel and seized “extensive intelligence assets”, but did not specify what was found.

The Israel Defense Forces said the “newly discovered information will enable its forces to conduct operations against additional Hamas targets.” “Demolition of the tunnels weakens Hamas’s intelligence capabilities.”

This discovery eventually led the military to UNRWA headquarters, where Israeli forces discovered that the UNRWA building was powering Hamas tunnels.

“Following these discoveries and based on preliminary information from the ISA, forces conducted a targeted raid on UNRWA’s central headquarters, which houses the offices of various humanitarian and international organizations,” the statement said. ing. “A large quantity of weapons including rifles, ammunition, grenades and explosives were found inside the building.

“Information and documents discovered in the UNRWA official’s office confirm that the office was indeed also used by Hamas terrorists.”

On Saturday, UNRWA Director-General Philippe Lazzarini said on the X program that his organization “didn’t know what was under its headquarters in Gaza.”

“UNRWA personnel left their headquarters in Gaza City on October 12 following Israeli evacuation orders and intensified shelling in the area,” he wrote to X. It may have happened there. ”

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant recently told Fox News Digital that “dozens” of UNRWA personnel took part in the October 7 terrorist attack that sparked the Israel-Hamas war.

“I think the world needs to wake up and approach this problem in a different way, while also addressing the needs of Gaza,” Gallant told FOX News Digital. “UNRWA is a terrorist group paid by many countries, and these countries give money to the people it rapes, kills, and imprisons.”
