Biden campaign co-chairman Mitch Landrieu said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that questions about President Joe Biden’s mental health do not make him “resign” from the presidential race.
Anchor Kristen Welker said, “An NBC News poll found that 76% of voters are concerned about whether the president has the physical and mental health necessary to serve a second term. ” he said. What is your plan to convince voters otherwise? ”
“President Trump was confused just the other night about what day of the week it is. He’s confused about who the leaders of North Korea and China are. By the way, he’s confused about who the leaders of Hungary and Turkey are,” Landrieu said. The other day, Speaker Mike Johnson was confusing Iraq and Iran. And of course President Trump doesn’t know the difference between Nancy Pelosi and Nikki Haley.”
“How do we respond to Democrats who say they want reform at the top level,” Welker said.
Landrieu said: And it proves that the president’s accomplishments are truly second to none and that Joe Biden is going to stand up every day. One thing Joe Biden will never do – expect this – he will never, ever quit. Because that’s not what he’s been doing all his life. ”
