Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman talks about the upcoming season.
Hardman, who spent his first four NFL seasons with the Chiefs, will start the 2023 season with the New York Jets. However, after being used sparingly, he was released and the Chiefs quickly got him back.
A few months later, he won Super Bowl V with an overtime touchdown from Patrick Mahomes.

At that point, he said, “My mind went blank.”
“I’m not going to lie, I passed out catching that pass,” he said on CBS’ postgame show Sunday night after a 25-22 win over the San Francisco 49ers. “I didn’t realize what was going on until I saw Pat running towards me. I thought, ‘Oh, we just won? Let’s celebrate!’

After the 49ers kicked a short field goal to take a three-point lead, Hardman’s touchdown scored in overtime.

Travis Kelce caught Mahomes’ ninth pass of the game for 7 yards and landed at San Francisco’s 3-yard line. Mahomes then ran to his right after the snap and bounced it back to Hardman for the win.
Hardman also had a 52-yard catch in the first half to get the Chiefs into the red zone for the first time, but Kansas City was unable to score after Isaiah Pacheco fumbled on the next play.
Hardman also made headlines this offseason when he appeared on HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” where he predicted that the Jets would play the 49ers in the Super Bowl.
Hardman was right to be scheduled to play in the final game of the season against the NFC champion Niners while the Jets were on the card with Oz the Mentalist.
