A 38-year-old woman was found dead next to a bloody iron in a New York City hotel room, and her teenage son said she was “nervous” in the days leading up to her death. He said he looked “concerned.”

Edwin Ceballos, 18, said he last spoke to his mother the day before her untimely death.

“The best thing about her is that she always helped us and our family and was very organized,” the heartbroken teen said through tears. “She always had money for everything in her house. She never owed anyone money.”
“All I knew was that she went to work in Manhattan at 2 p.m. every day,” he said, explaining how he called the police on Thursday when she didn’t return home.

“She wanted a better life because there are a lot of bad people in Ecuador. It was very dangerous,” Ceballos said. “She gave us the life we always wanted.”
