LPGA lands Ford Championship title sponsor as women’s golf thrives

The LPGA announced another big win Tuesday as it announced a new title sponsor for next month’s newly named Ford Championship.

Ford Motor Company will sponsor the LPGA Ford Championship, which will be held March 28-31 at Seville Country Club in Gilbert, Arizona.

The current contract is only for one year, but we are building a long-term partnership.

“We’re still working on the final terms, but we want to be here for a long time,” LPGA Commissioner Molly Marcoux Samaan said.

This development is another sign of the growth of women’s golf.

“Money is important, but what it represents is even more important,” LPGA Commissioner Molly Marcoux Samaan said during the announcement. “This symbolizes the growth of women’s sport. This symbolizes the value that our partners, us and our sponsors have for our women and our work. So we’re really fortunate and fortunate to have a great group of sponsors and partners who understand the unique opportunity we have together.”

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Ally Financial and the LPGA are partnering to create the largest prize fund in U.S. Women’s Open history later this year.

The prize money for this prestigious event will be $12 million, compared to $5.5 million just three years ago.

The women’s game is in great shape, with rising stars like Rose Chan and superstars like Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson.
