Music icon Adele enjoys a passionate following from her fans due to the exorbitant ticket prices for her European tour, which cost more than $1,000.
“It would take a lot of effort to pay £984 for the best seat in the house during a 10-night stay in Germany.” Sun. “Tickets for her first European performance in eight years cost a hefty £280 each, even at the cheapest price.”
Affordable tickets in the $75 range for Munich’s outdoor arena sold out quickly, with up to 270,000 people forced to spend hours in online queues after tickets went on sale last week. Only $770 VIP standing tickets and $1,200 seat packages remain. Compare these prices to 2011, when some tickets were available for $37.
“It seems like a long time ago now,” said Lisa Bale, 46, who saw Adele perform in 2011. She said: “After pre-registering and enduring a line of nearly 200,000 people, she was thrilled to finally get her turn.”
“But all the cheap seats were gone and the remaining tickets cost just over £300, which I thought was too expensive,” she added. “I felt like she was getting a little greedy, so I logged off. I’m a big fan and I think she’s great, but I can’t justify spending that much money.”
Michelle Batchelor, 43, an event manager in London, said Adele’s price at New York’s Madison Square Garden was lower.

“I met her at Madison Square Garden in New York and it was cheaper than flying to Munich in August,” Batchelor said. “I’m one of the thousands of people who waited in line for hours only to have the affordable seats run out and the exorbitant VIP seats left.”
“She’s a great performer, but the lowest price I found was £286.08,” she added. “I can’t afford that on my salary, let alone spend nearly £1,000 on the best seats. I can only hope that the prices will come down if no one buys them.”
Adele, who will end her stay in Las Vegas in June next year, had originally planned only six performances in Munich, but due to high demand, she added four performances. This will be her first European tour since 2016.
Adele’s criticism of ticket prices comes amid a wave of backlash from fans across the music industry who feel concert tickets are becoming too expensive.
