The violence was orchestrated and ordered by BHB executives Latique Johnson, nicknamed “La Brim” or “Pilot,” Omar “Dro” Barry, and Jasiah “Rocco” Herbert. It is said that Orders were usually carried out by lower-ranking members who received approval or promotion within the gang after carrying out the orders. FBI says New York immigrant gang MS-13 is trying to ‘rebuild’ after renewal of indictment over series of machete murders

The acts of violence charged in the indictment date back to August 2021, following the death of the alleged BHB member.

BHB members allegedly plotted to avenge the deaths and establish a reputation as the most violent and respected street gang in the community on Long Island. BHB members are said to have commonly earned their cash through criminal activities such as armed robbery and drug sales.

In one fatal incident, schoolteacher Kimberly Midgett was riding in a black sedan when three members of the BHB gang – Joel Badger, 18, Raymond Rodriguez, 18, and a juvenile. allegedly fired shots at the car.

Midget was hit in the head and died, and another passenger was hit in the arm. Prosecutors have not released the name of the passenger who was hit, but previous reports said a 10-year-old daughter was in the car with her mother at the time.

Prosecutors said Midgette was not the intended victim of the shooting, but rather that the shooting was a result of mistaken identity.

“Kimberly Midgett was a beloved elementary school teacher who was senselessly shot and killed in a drive-by shooting as she sat in her car,” said Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly.

“We worked with our law enforcement partners to indict Omar Barry, an alleged member of the Bloodhound Brims, for murder,” she continued.

“Prosecuting gangs is extremely difficult work, requiring interagency cooperation and continuous information sharing. Thank you to District Attorney Ray Tierney for helping us remove him from the Island.”
