Willis ‘Had a Strategy’ of Selective Recall

On Thursday’s NBC “Top Stories,” host Tom Lamas and NBC legal analyst Danny Ceballos said that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D), when asked potentially incriminating questions, He said that his strategic memory was poor.

Rama said: “She had some kind of strategy in how she answered the questions, right? She seemed to remember perfectly when she was able to tackle the questions head-on, but other times it was When it was a difficult question, I would say, “Oh, I don’t remember.” There was something like a small side note. ”

“I hear a lot of people saying she came out swinging, she fought back, which is great when you’re giving a speech or an interview. But I don’t think she did a great job,” Ceballos said. Every lawyer who thinks, I ask, look… would you tolerate a witness who doesn’t answer your questions like this witness did?… [T]The defense attorney did not conduct appropriate leading questions. One way is to ask the witness and limit the answer to a yes or no. And in fact, the defense attorney could have done a better job in that area. But from the perspective of a witness testifying…she didn’t follow the rules of evidence. she got it done. And you know, she took a chance and that’s probably what saved her predicament for her. Because, as you say, she got the message well. But if I’m evaluating this strictly based on the rules of evidence and the standards that my good friends here would accept when cross-examining a witness, that can’t be the case. ”

Ceballos then added:[W]She has developed a poor memory when it comes to things that could get her into trouble. Did she pay the tax lien? I don’t know. But when it comes to all the continents and countries Nathan Wade has visited, oh, she remembers it perfectly. why? There is absolutely zero risk. ”
