Dole has announced a recall of several of its brand and private label salad kits because they were processed in a California listeria outbreak.

“Consumers who have any of these products in their refrigerators or freezers are urged not to consume them and to discard them immediately,” Dole said.
The kits will be sold in 25 states and six Canadian provinces, with a full list published by the company.
Dole stated that it was not aware of any specific cases related to its products, but a company official told retailers, “We have checked inventory in stores and warehouses and have confirmed that there are no recalled products available for purchase by consumers.” The decision was made to notify the government to confirm that

Symptoms of Listeria infection include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, according to the FDA. In rare cases, it can be fatal, especially in children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.
