Australian girl, 16, dies in car crash near Dubbo on the way to see Taylor Swift

A Queensland family on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to see a Taylor Swift concert leaves one daughter dead and the other in a coma in a horror crash in regional New South Wales. He has fallen into a state of despair and is grieving.

Emergency crews were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Dunedoo Road in Ballymore, about 29 miles north-east of Dubbo, at around 6pm on Thursday.

The 16-year-old girl died at the scene and her 10-year-old sister was taken to Sydney’s Westmead Hospital in a serious condition, where she was in a coma.

The two girls were traveling with their mother, who was heading to Melbourne in an SUV to see Taylor Swift’s Elas tour.

The woman was treated by paramedics and taken to Dubbo Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the semi-trailer was also taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition.

The girls’ godmother, Carly Fox, said the girls and their mother had secured tickets to both the Melbourne and Sydney shows and were looking forward to meeting Taylor Swift.

“This was supposed to be the road trip of a lifetime, going to concerts in both Melbourne and Sydney.”

Mr Fox said the rest of the family then flew to Sydney to be at the 10-year-old’s bedside in hospital.

Her mother is scheduled to fly in from Dubbo on Saturday.

“I am so overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity and love for my family. It’s amazing that we’ve already raised over $4,000,” Fox wrote in an update Saturday morning.

“Thank you. As you can imagine, we have a lot of work ahead of us and this will really help relieve some of the pressure.”

The fundraiser has raised more than $10,000 as of this article’s publication.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
