A California pit bull breeder was brutally murdered by the dogs he was caring for in his backyard.
The murdered man’s girlfriend made a horrifying discovery on Friday morning when she discovered her boyfriend’s dismembered body lying in the kennel area. The Compton Fire Department, along with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, responded to a bloody scene in a backyard around 8 a.m. after a woman called 911.
Aerial footage shows a woman carefully climbing a fence to get out of the backyard of a Compton home where pit bulls were infested.
Investigators say surveillance cameras captured footage of the fatal fight, which occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday.
“He was feeding the dogs and there may have been an altercation with some of the dogs at that point.” [they] He ultimately attacked and injured the victim,” said Michael Gomez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control said authorities were cautious when rounding up the 13 pit bulls, five adults and eight puppies.
Animal control officials will determine whether the deadly pit bull needs to be euthanized.
“Preliminary information suggests the deceased person was involved in breeding and selling pit bulls,” animal control officials said in a statement. statement.
The deceased dog’s owner’s father told animal welfare officials that he was “cooperating and agreed to sign the surrender of the dog.”
