Jordan Spieth sends tweet of perfection amid Hideki Matsuyama’s Genesis Invitational win

Hideki Matsuyama made a stunning comeback Sunday, shooting a 9-under 62 to win the Genesis Invitational.

Taking advantage of the moment, Jordan Spieth tweeted: perfect advice To my fellow Masters Champions.

“Hideki played great! Be sure to double check the scorecard,” Spieth wrote.

The joke went viral after what happened to the 30-year-old on Friday.

Spieth signed the wrong scorecard, resulting in the PGA Tour disqualifying him. It was probably embarrassing, but the former Texas Longhorn had to keep it light.

Following this incident, numerous players and fans alike debated whether Spaeth should have been allowed to remain in the competition. Unfortunately, rules are rules and he admitted he was wrong, but the joke is as good as it gets.

Despite this, Spieth was the butt of jokes this week at Riviera and still generated the Tweet of the Week. Of all the things that happened at the 2024 Genesis Invitational, including Tiger Woods’ withdrawal, signing the wrong scorecard had to be one of the most vexing.

Now that it’s over and done with, Spieth has a joke that will last a long time with most of his PGA Tour peers. You have to think you’re going to be made fun of for that. So why not get ahead of everyone and crack a joke?
