Think you have what it takes to apply to NASA?

(WTAJ) – Go there, Matt Damon. It’s someone else’s turn to be a “Martian” on a new NASA mission.

In support of NASA’s Mars Human Exploration Plan, applications are now being accepted for NASA’s upcoming Mars Surface Simulation Mission. The second of his three planned ground missions, CHAPEA (Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog), is scheduled to launch in spring 2025.

The mission included a four-person volunteer crew who lived and worked inside a 1,700-square-foot 3D-printed habitat called Mars Dune Alpha at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. NASA said the habitat simulates the challenges of a Mars mission, including limited resources, equipment failure, communications delays and other environmental stressors.

Simulated spacewalks, robotic operations, habitat maintenance, exercise, and crop growing will all be tasks that selected crew members will need to handle.
