Adult film star Kagney Lin Carter, who friends say was struggling with mental health issues, died last week of an apparent suicide, according to reports. She was 36 years old.
Carter died Thursday in Ohio, according to initial online records. Reviewed by TMZ. The Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office received her body that day from an address in Parma.
A city police representative told TMZ that Carter appears to have died by suicide.
A GoFundMe page remembered Carter’s beauty and love of dancing and singing.
“Kagney was kind. Kagney was generous. The world was as cold as it could be, but Kagney brought a light,” two friends wrote.
However, the fundraising page also notes that “despite her many great accomplishments and talents, Kagney struggled with mental health issues as the years passed.”
Friends who knew her through her fitness studio said, “She definitely felt alone in her own head, but she continued to strive for her friends and the community that cared about her.” “She fought her own battles to the best of her ability, with the same tenacity and drive that she has shown in every other area of her life.”
A GoFundMe page, which is raising money for her memorial, said she “tragically took her own life” at her home.
She entered the adult film industry in the mid-2000s and moved back to Ohio in recent years to start Pole Fitness Studio.
According to his IMBd profile, Carter won multiple awards during his career and was nominated for numerous AVN awards.
